We have 2 litters of baby rabbits in our pet barn and we are expecting baby guinea pigs soon. On the farm we have lots of cute fluffy lambs. You can see our newest arrivals in the Big animal barn and the older lambs are out in the fields enjoying a run around with their friends. If you time your visit to the lambing barn right you might even be lucky enough to see a lamb being born!
This morning our 1st lambs of 2013 were born. Not 1, not 2 but 3 baby lambs, yes our 1st arrivals were a healthy set of triplets. 1 boy and 2 girls. They were followed half an hour later by a set of big twin boys. We have another ewe who is expecting twins looking like she is going to give birth before the end of the day too. So lambing has well and truly started!
February Half Term
February is a busy time on the farm. This is the start of our lambing season, Colin and Ken the farmers will be busy checking the sheep day and night as we await the arrival of our newborn lambs. We can't wait to hear the bleating of the newborn lambs and their mothers chatting in their pens and see the little gangs of lambs playing together in the fields as they get old enough to live outside.
In our pet barn Lola's gorgeous fluffy baby rabbits are growing up fast and are ready to be weaned. It is really cute to see them all cuddled up together in a heap in their enclosure or bouncing around when it is play-time!

January Update
Lola the French Lop Rabbit has just had a litter of babies. We are all excitedly waiting for them to come out of their nest. We think there might be 6 little babies! Photos to follow when they come out to play.
Our Ground Source Heat Pump is nearly finished, we are hoping it will be operational by the end of next week. This will be used to heat our Bunkhouse Accommodation. Combined with our Solar Panels it is another step to reducing our carbon footprint.
Cantref is a magical place to visit this December. We have Santa and his Elf in our Grotto and Cheeky Mr Ev's and some of his animal friends in our Christmas Stage Show.
We have updated our indoor play area with a new wooden floor to match our lovely new cafe area. Now you can enjoy the stunning views of the mountains and relax with a nice cup of freshly ground coffee whilst your children let of steam in our heated play area.
We have added a ground source heat pump to heat our Bunkhouse accommodation and hot water in the Adventure Farm. This combined with our new solar panels help to reduce our carbon footprint.
We are expecting the patter of tiny feet in our pet barn in the New Year. We can't wait to see the baby rabbits and baby guinea pigs!
Well what a great half term we had here at Cantref! We hope you all enjoyed your pumpkins and had fun carving them! We are now open at weekends only between 10.30am - 5.00pm.

We have loads of fun activities going on throughout the summer holidays here at Cantref.
Starting from 4th August we have our own Olym-PIGS and Mr Ev's Olym-PETS so come along for a fun family day out in the Brecon Beacons National Park.
We will also start bottle feeding our baby goats - come along and watch the mischievous bunch and help us feed them all! You will be sure to get your goat gluggling gleefully! Please check our daily programme for all our times!

Jubilee Special Offer :- All customers at Cantref Adventure Farm who get their till receipt signed before leaving can get £2 off per person if they return during the same week. This offer starts on the 2nd of June and expires on the 10th of June.
We have lots of new arrivals at Cantref. As well as all the lambs, kids and piglets we have had a gorgeous Donkey Foal and a really cheeky little Shetland Foal!
In the Pet Barn we have also had baby Guinea Pigs and most recently a litter of baby rabbits, which we are hoping will come out of their nest before the end of half term.
On May the 22nd Cantref Hosted an Open Day for the National Farm Attraction Network. Around 50 Farm Park Operators from around the UK attended and the day was a huge success. Cantref received lots of positive feedback and no one could believe the beautiful scenery we are surrounded by and many commeted on the fact that the cafe has the best view of any cafe they had ever been to.
During May we also opened our new Young Tractor Driver Challenge area with lots of John Deere Pedal Tractors for the kids to play on. It has proved to be a huge success and we have loved seeing lots of children pretending to be farmers.
Baby Piglets arrive at Cantref!We are really pleased to announce that one of our kune kune sows has had 10 baby piglets! The piglets were born just in time for the Easter weekend - they couldn't wait to start the Easter Egg Hunt! They are very small but extremley cute! From the 31st of March we are open everyday!
We have loads going on at Cantref this Easter. We have our Treasure Hunt from the 6th - 9th of April. Lots of your favourite shows and activities are back for 2012. We have bottle feeding lambs, tractor & trailer rides and the paddle boats have re-opened.
Cantref has been undergoing major refurbishment over the quieter months. Our Kitchen has moved and we will soon be redeveloping our new extended gift shop. Even the animals are getting new homes! The rabbits have bigger pens and we will soon have a new rodent corner.
We have loads of baby animals at Cantref for you to see this Easter. We have really cute fluffy baby lambs, cheeky goat kids and some gorgeous baby rabbits. Some of our newest arrivals can be seen in our photo galleries.
Cantref is also getting Greener! On Monday 2nd April at 10.30am Mr John Cook Chief Executive of the Brecon Beacons National Park will be officially opening the LARGEST Photo Voltaic Electrical Generation Scheme in the Brecon Beacons National Park and the 4th largest in Wales. Mr Ev's is back at Cantref this February after he joined the Westenders Panto - Cinderella at the theatre in Brecon from the 21st January until the 28th of January. He had a brilliant time and we just hope he hasn't picked up too many bad habits off the Ugly Sisters!

At Cantref the sheep have come in ready for lambing in February. We can't wait to have lots of cute fluffy lambs running around again!

This month we will be continuing with our Pet Barn redesign. The plan is to make all our animal pens bigger and more interesting for our animals, so that you can enjoy watching them while they play!
Throughout February we will also be serving Sunday Dinners.

Piglets!
We have got lots of piglets at Cantref at the moment. We have ginger ones, black ones and lots of black and white spotted ones!!! We also have a 1st at Cantref, in our last litter of 7 piglets we had 2 stripey piglets!
Britain's Got Talent Pig!In 2010 Star got through to the 2nd round of Britain's Got Talent and met all the Stars:- Ant & Dec, Simon, Amanda and Piers in Cardiff. He made special friends with Ant and even gave him a high five. He was not so popular with the backstage crew when he stole somebodies sandwiches while waiting to go on stage!! Lets hope the fame hasn't gone to his head!
Star also appeared with Iolo Williams on S4C's Bro on the 6th of October 2011. Iolo Williams is best know for his BBC and S4C Nature Shows. If you missed the show then follow the link from our Facebook Page.
Star made a reappearance in January 2012 when he was included in the programme The Talent Show Story on ITV.
We were also visited recently by Simon Thorne one of Wales' Top Composers to record our pigs making lots of noise for a Greek Tragedy he is currently working on.
