It's a family business

Cantref started as a working farm and started the riding centre 60 years ago by the present owners father.

Mary still runs the riding centre and her son Colin and daughter in law Gwen (with their children) now run the farm, adventure farm, camp-site and holiday cottages. They have spent over 20 years into developing Cantref in to the Brecon's Biggest Adventure.

In 2015 it sees it's biggest investment with a new camping area, shower block and all year accommodation.

This year also sees the big increase in additional shows like Meet Spirit the Unicorn, Meet Blue the Dinosaurs and Own a Pony Days and Private VIP Sessions such as goat walking. In 2021 the Bunkhouse Group Accommodation was converted into Holiday Cottages sleeping 8, 6 and 4 and 2 Camping Pods were added to the offering. In 2022 during the summer they will also add a selection of Yurts.

All the effort is designed to make your trip to Cantref as an experience you and your children will never forget.

On a clear night in the Brecon Beacons, you can see the Milky Way, major constellations, bright nebulas and even meteor showers. It’s enough to make anyone starry eyed.

Horse Riding

Cantref also has an onsite Horse Riding Stables offering a range of rides, pony treks into the mountains and riding lessons for different ages and abilities.

It is also possible to book a VIP experience during your stay. This is a 1 hour experience for up to 6 people. Packages include Goat Walking, Be a Keeper, Pamper a Pony etc. We also offer Segway Safaris on site.

ADVENTURE FARM PARK

Additionally on site, we have an Adventure Farm Park, perfect for the little ones to let off steam. Residents at Cantref get free entry into the Farm Park when it is open.

Please check Farm Park opening dates and times before booking. Opening Times. Breakfast rolls available from the Cafe between 9 and 11 School Holidays and weekends when the Farm Park is open.

During the Summer Holidays we have Wood Fired Pizza Nights on Wednesday & Saturday Evenings.
